Reconditioning Exercises | Reconditioning Exercises are used to assist with muscle strengthening, joint mobility, balance, endurance and confidence. We create personalised reconditioning programs with you so that you can achieve your goals sooner. | Balance Training | Balance Training consists of specific, targeted exercises that are aimed to help improve your balance and reduce the risk of falling. | Strengthening Programs | Strengthening Programs are personalised exercise programs that are designed to increase your strength and endurance. Your Physiotherapist will work with you to develop a customised plan that caters to your level of function and strength goals. | Massage Therapy | Massage Therapy employs soft and deep tissue massage to increase blood-circulation and relax muscle tissue. | Respiratory Physiotherapy | Respiratory Physiotherapy includes breathing exercises and expectoration techniques to assist in the removal of lung secretions and treat conditions such as pneumonia. | Walking Aid and Equipment Recommendations | If needed, it is important that you are using the correct walking aid and that it is adjusted to suit you. Our Physiotherapists can help with obtaining a walking aid that fits your needs and in ensuring that it is properly configured for you. | Breathing Exercises | Breathing Exercises are used to improve lung expansion, strengthen the diaphragm and to reduce the effort taken to breathe. | Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) | TENS involves the use of a TENS machine to relieve pain across affected areas. It is most commonly used in the treatment of chronic pain. | | Orthopaedic Rehabilitation | Orthopaedic Rehabilitation may follow joint replacement, bone fracture or cast removal. It is often used to increase range of movement, muscle strength and to assist in gait re-education. | Falls Prevention Programs | We develop Falls Prevention Programs for all at-risk patients to help you feel safer on your feet. These can include an assessment of risk-factors in your home, exercise plans and strategies to reduce the risk of falling. | Gait Re-Education | Gait Re-Education entails an assessment of your walking pattern and the steps required to make corrective changes to it. Gait Re-Education can lead to better balance, reduced risk of falling, heightened endurance and improved quality of life. | Manual Therapy | Manual Therapy involves mobilising techniques applied by the Physiotherapist to relieve pain and increase joint range of movement. This is often employed to treat chronic pain or injury. | Mobility and Transfer Assessment/Re-Training | Mobility and Transfer Assessment/Training is concerned with educating patients, carers and family correct transfer techniques (sitting down, standing up and getting out of bed, for example). Correct transfer technique and mobility is vital to keeping our patients safe and preventing falls. | Hydrotherapy | Hydrotherapy involves the use of water-based exercises to improve muscle condition, mobility, balance and endurance. One-on-one sessions can be arranged to take place at public or private pool facilities. | Relaxation Strategies | Relaxation Techniques can be taught by our Physiotherapists to help patients relieve stress, reduce muscle tension, alleviate chronic pain or minimise fatigue. | Therapeutic Ultrasound | Therapeutic Ultrasound involves the application of soundwaves to affected areas to relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and increase circulation to the area being treated. | |
